Benefits of Art in a Child’s Life:
Our vibrant Art class for 4 and 5 year olds develop drawing, painting, sculpting and crafting
skills in an age appropriate climate through many different mediums for preschoolers.
The class offers Art Appreciation by learning about many different Artists and Art Movements
such as; Jackson Pollack: Abstract Expressionism, Andy Warhol: Pop Art, Salvador Dali: Surrealism
and many more. Children will mimic various Artists work, learn art terminology and become familiar
with topics such as secondary and primary colors, 2D and 3D art and much more!
Children participate in activities that help stimulate and develop individual creativity and
learning skills that support academic success!
A Typical Day:
Each day in Art Class, Children are encouraged and given lots of positive reinforcement to be
individually creative through the projects and mediums that are introduced. Children use organic
and familiar child-friendly materials to explore the themes at hand, and create amazing and
meaningful pieces while understanding the artistic concepts/movements that are involved. The two
"Art Shows" each year are a high point for children to participate in and describe the details of
each piece to parents and family.
Children at this private school in Frisco are busy! During the half-day program, students rotate
through four classrooms that focus on music, dance, theatre and preschool with art.
Each class time is concentrated on skill building with age appropriate activities, and the
teachers make it fun. The faculty is highly trained in their area of artistic discipline, and have
a genuine love for this age group.
The Musical Arts Schoolhouse is a licensed child-care center and is located at the Frisco School of Music, a premier private music school in the area, at
Preston and Main Street in Frisco.

Vicki Tubbs: Lead Art
Teacher

My name is Vicki Tubbs. I was born and raised on a little farm in MO. After high school, I attended Southwest
Baptist University where I majored in Early childhood Education with a minor in Art Appreciation.
I have been living in Texas for over 17 years. I am married to a wonderful man and we have 3 kids. Kody-18,
Tina-13, and Scotty-10.
I have 21 years of teaching experience. I have taught pre-school, Kindergarten and in the past four years I have
been teaching K-4th Math and Reading Intervention at a public ISD.
My love and passion is working with children and helping them succeed in everything they do.
When I am not chauffeuring my own children around to all of their school/sport activities, I enjoy reading,
drawing, cooking and going on long walks.
I am very excited to be a part of the Musical Arts Schoolhouse team. I look forward to teaching your child the
fundamentals of Art Appreciation and to create a fun, safe and learning environment, that helps stimulate and
develop each child.
