Benefits of Dance in a Child’s Life:
Grace and poise are just two of the physical benefits of dance for 4 and 5 year olds. Children
who dance have increased self-esteem, coordination, balance, discipline and respect for themselves
and others.
Dancing is not only fun, but educational. Students will be instructed in ballet, tap, jazz,
Russian and creative movement! Accomplishing the different positions of ballet and steps/routines
in tap create a sense of self worth for the child. Being able to create moves with the music is a
very satisfying event for a young dancer. Dancing is not just for girls as we have many boys in our
program!
Our program in Frisco focuses on the skill of dance and is practiced as unisex. Dance techniques
have been used to train and discipline professional athletes including football and basketball
players to help develop faster moves on the field and allow them to move without injuring their
bodies.
A child in dance learns different positions and steps, which utilize all parts of their bodies.
They are educated on proper posture, head and body alignment and moving with their entire body to
create a flow of movement. Dance has evolved and is an active and recognized sport in addition to
providing an intense and fun form of exercise.
A Typical Day:
Dance Class is divided into two or three sections each day. We start with review of classical
steps and sequences that are appropriate for each age group, then move into jazz and tap. Children
love to change into their appropriate shoes and move through the familiar routines they have been
taught building on their knowledge with something new each day. We have two big "shows" for parents
and family each year, and the excitement for these performances grows as the children master the
routines for their big day and delight in the costumes and music.
Children at this private school for are busy! During the half-day program, students rotate
through four classrooms that focus on music, dance, theatre and preschool with art.
Each class time is concentrated on skill building with age appropriate activities, and the
teachers make it fun. The faculty is highly trained in their area of artistic discipline, and have
a genuine love for this age group.
The Musical Arts Schoolhouse is a licensed child-care center and is located at the Frisco School of Music, a premier private music school in the area, at
Preston and Main Street in Frisco.

Victoria Dolph: Lead Dance
Teacher

I am from Dallas, Texas born and raised. I went to Shady Grove Christian Academy and studied ballet at Ballet
Dallas, Krassovskas School of Classical Ballet and Jeunesse, Fort Worth Dallas Ballet, and the Russian Ballet
Society in Scotland.
I have been teaching children for 9 years. I started when I was 17 teaching creative movement and beginning
ballet at Krassovskas Ballet Jeunesse.
After a few years there, I taught for DISD after school programs. for the past 2 years I have taught after
school programs for Montessori schools along with teaching at Dance Institute of Dallas and choreographing pieces
for dancers of all ages.
In the future I would like to have my own dance studio that offers pilates, yoga and nutrition. I would also
like to have a touring company that the school feeds into! I enjoy performing, traveling to New York and Los
Angeles to take different kinds of classes, teaching, working out and learning new things everyday!
